Private Family Interment
Obituary of Emanuel Lasher
Emanuel passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 89. Predeceased by his daughter Diane Ovelsen (2005), and by his son David Lasher (2012); he will be greatly missed by his sons Robert, Wayne, Dwight and Terry; by his siblings, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and by many friends. Emanuel was born to Wesley and Sena Lasher on the family homestead in the Govan, SK district. He grew up working on the family farm, but when his formal education was completed, he went to work for the Saskatchewan Power Corporation. After marriage the family moved to Moose Jaw in the early 1950's. He went to work at the Army Navy Department Store, but in the 1970's he attended SIAST and earned a Stationary Engineer's ticket. Emanuel loved to hunt and fish, but particularly enjoyed spending time with his children and sharing a memory or two reminiscing and telling stories of his youth. At Emanuel's request, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. In Emanuel's memory, donations made to Pioneer Lodge, 1000 Albert St, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 2Y2 would be appreciated.
