Linda Hogg

Obituary of Linda Hogg

With sincerest sorrow, Linda Glenys Hogg passed from this world to her heavenly home on November 13th, 2020 at the age of 68 years old. After an 8-year battle with cancer she passed peacefully at the Moose Jaw Hospital. Married to Wilfred Hogg for 48 years, they shared their lives in Gosford Australia, moving to Calgary, Canada in 1977 and in 2007 to their final home of Caron, Saskatchewan. Linda is survived by her 3 children, Alison Rist (David Rist), Simon Hogg & Richard Hogg. The highlight of Linda’s life were her 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Amy, Mason & Londyn and her fur-babies Max and Max. Linda was born in Engadine, Australia on April 26th, 1952. She was predeceased by her father Edwin John Charles Furze and is survived by her mother Marjorie Spalding Furze. She was the 4th born of 5 siblings, Eddie Furze, Helen Evans, Robert Furze and Colleen Allison. While in Australia, Linda worked as a nurse and upon immigrating to Canada, worked as a teacher’s assistant. She had a deep passion for children with mental challenges which she demonstrated both as her career but also volunteering in the church. Linda’s faith in her Savior Jesus Christ was the most important aspect of her life. She never wavered in God’s plan through the years of battling her cancer and although she could see the loosing battle she never questioned God, but rather rejoiced in the fact that she was soon going home to see her maker. She trusted his purpose in her having cancer. Linda will be missed daily, but her husband and children all look forward to joining her at the end of their journey who share in their trust in Gods plan. Linda’s hobbies were knitting, gardening, and cooking; all of which were that she wanted to share with her family. Linda was always working on a new project for her children or grandchildren. Even up until the end, she was working on a quilt for one of her grandchildren – only finishing days prior to her passing. Linda will always be missed for her devotion for her family – her Daughter and Sons will miss her selflessness for them through whatever was happening in their lives. Due to the current health situation, a private ceremony will be held for Linda. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Linda’s name may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. A memorial will be held in the spring of 2021 to celebrate her life. In living memory of Linda, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
