Obituary of Doreen Elizabeth Lydia Koskie

Doreen Elizabeth Lydia Koskie Doreen Elizabeth Lydia Koskie of North Battleford went to be with her Lord and Saviour on December 22, 2020 at the age of 69. She was born December 15, 1951 to loving parents, Ernest Fabian Koskie and Sylvia Elizabeth Baiton Koskie (nee Donison). She was predeceased by her special friend and the love of her life Donald; brothers, Wesley Baiton, George Baiton, John Baiton, Elie Baiton, Toma Baiton (infant), Stephan Baiton, Constantine Baiton, Walter Ronald Koskie; and sisters, Vera Donison, and Paula Unger. She is survived by her brother Nick (Sherri) Baiton and family; sisters, Mary Marjorie Koskie and family and Irene (Barry) Koskie Wind-Riddell and family. She will be missed by many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. The staff at Saskatchewan hospital loved Doreen very much. She will be greatly missed by her family at Saskatchewan Hospital. Her family wishes to thank the social workers at the Saskatchewan Hospital who said, “Family sometimes is more than a blood relation, and Doreen has many family members at the Saskatchewan hospital.” We would like to say a special thank you to Linda Shynarnuk, the Palliative Care team, Pastor Sam and the Spiritual Care team at the Saskatchewan Hospital. And also to the Nurse Practitioners, Kelly and Phillip, to Chelsey, to the physio therapy department, and to the STEP program for loving Doreen and for being with her always, as part of her family. Doreen opened up the new hospital with the song, “God save the Queen”, as relayed to me by the Director of the Hospital, Linda Shynarnuk. So, in other words, Doreen ‘cut the ribbon’ at the new hospital. Doreen loved to sing and always said, “I have a solo voice”. In living memory of Doreen, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
